Only one of the two owlets is left. They both tried to fly and only one was able to make it. The other smaller owlet hit the ground and was taken to animal rescue. Click on the shots to make them bigger and look for the spider crawling on his head.

Owlets
Two owl chicks were discovered in a nest on the grounds of a local health facility. The two great horned owlets aren't excited about being out during the day, but did enough to allow me to take a few pictures.

Orlando Barred Owl Closeup
Here is another picture of the Owl that was taken before the other photo. This is how he looked when we first saw him.

We were on a nature walk in Orlando and walked right by this owl. In fact we were close enough that I was able to take this picture with my G7.
